Study shows the average child can pick up 10 -20 words a day. In a way I think they are professionals in what they do and how they learn. The way children pick up foreign languages are the same way they did for their first language. By not worrying constantly and staying positive gives children the advantage over the teenagers and adults. Children also stay immerse into the language granting them this amazing ability to learn faster.

The main reason most teenagers and adults don’t want to learn new languages is because of their thoughts about embarrassing themselves. The more insecure the less likely the person would enjoy learning. However, children have the complete opposite mindset. Children don’t care about making mistakes and nor should teenagers and adults. You should try staying positive, don’t be insecure, and work hard.

^This is an example on how fast children can learn language. ^

Wherever you live in the world, there will be differences in others. By learning a new language you’ve opened a new door to another world. Also you’ve gained more knowledge and a new way to look at the world. The more languages you, the more open minded you will become. Travelling would be more enjoyable and more memorable; if you know the language spoken in the country. Once you’ve experienced this you will realize how large of a world we are living in. To conclude my post here is a picture of the “Eiffel Tower”. (below)

Hello everyone, this is my second entry this semester. The new topic Mr. Eckert told us to write about was “The Benefits of knowing a Second Language”. In my opinion, I think that knowing another language gives you more Educational opportunities. For example, if your thinking of becoming the prime mister of Canada, you need French to be your second language. Also it makes you more open-minded, making you more aware that there are different ways of thinking. When your travelling and the people in the country speak the second language you speak, it would make communication easier and make your trip more enjoyable. Also you could make new acquaintances along the way. By learning new languages you’ve opened new opportunities to learn more about world cultures.

My First Blog Report

Bonjour Students and Mr. Eckert,

This is my first blog entry for week 1. On our first day of class we were given icebreaker sheets to get to know each other better. Overall it was a success. I learned many things such as, Henric loves poutine and that Amanda has the amazing ability to say “Thank you” in French. Another thing I learned is how to say ” Can I use the restroom?” and “Can I borrow a pen?”. Mr. Eckert also taught us how to respectfully greet each other. To end my first blog entry I would really hope for this semester to be successful and fun.
